Job Description
The R&D Engineer III is a key contributor to the R&D team taking ownership of specific project components and leading technical investigations. Building on the foundation of R&D Engineer II this role drives the development of new structural engineering solutions conducting independent research studies comprehensive code reviews advanced data processing and complex structural calculations. You will be instrumental in ensuring technical rigor contributing significantly to the entire innovation cycle and collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams to bring products to market and maintain existing solutions.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities
Lead specific research studies including experimental design data analysis and interpretation;identifiestrends andpreparesclear technical summaries.
Conducts in-depth literature reviews and contributes significantly to the ideation process for novel structural solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. design engineering marketing manufacturing) to conceptualize design and prototype structural solutions that meet project requirements and performanceobjectives.
Independently manages R&D projects and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensuretimelydelivery of outcomesdemonstratingeffective project management with minimal supervision.
Designs and oversees physical and virtual testing programs for complex structural elements.
Evaluates the behavior of structural components and systems under various loading conditions using advanced computational tools and techniques.
Reads interprets and appliesbuildingcodes design standards testing standards and technical reportsidentifyingcritical implications for new and existing products.
Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports and findings to internal stakeholders and external customers.
Provide technical support to Engineering teams for the implementation and integration of innovative structural solutions into real-world applications from concept to construction.
Serve as a senior and reliable team member reviewing and approving technical tasks and reports from junior team members. Trains andstartsmentoring junior engineers on essential duties leading by example in technical execution and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Bachelors Civil Engineering or
Bachelors Related Field
Masters Civil Engineering preferred
6 Years of relevant engineering experience with PE(Civil-Structural)
12 years of relevant engineering experience required without PE
Demonstratedexpertisein structural engineering principles building design codes (e.g. IBC ASCE 7) and relevant industry standards
Proven experience with structural analysis software and simulation tools (including CAD software)
Experience in prototyping and experimental validation
Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearlyindicatesthe ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
