Registrar Judicial Process and Case Management
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Registrar the Registrar Judicial Process & Case Management shall be responsible for the supervision monitoring and coordination of the activities of the Judicial Process & Case Management Division. S/he shall ensure efficient Case Management process while providing direct supervisory role to the Deputy Registrar and secondary supervisory role to the Assistants Registrars - Bailiff Docket and reproduction Clerks.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supervise monitor and coordinate the activities of sections and units in the Division under the authority of the Deputy Chief Registrar.
- Carry out case management functions under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief Registrar.
- Responsible for drawing up the General cause list in accordance with the instructions of the Judges Chief Registrar and Deputy Chief Registrar.
- Supervise the verification of new application receipt processing transmission and service of all Applications lodged in the Registry.
- Supervise the service of all Court processes to Judges Parties Counsel Translators and Research Division and ensures the translation of Court processes.
- Prepare for Court hearings in accordance with the Courts Protocols Rules Instructions to the Chief Registrar and Practice directions under the supervision of Deputy Chief Registrar.
- Record a summary of the proceedings in the Record Book during Court session and prepare the Minutes of the Proceedings.
- Attend and may represent the Chief Registrar at Court hearings.
- Assist the Chief Registrar and his Deputy in the discharge of their functions.
- Performs any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Judge Rapporteur Chief Registrar or Deputy Chief Registrar.
- Proficiency in English French and Portugese is Preferred
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Law or equivalent from a recognized university.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative law or related areas including 2 years relevant international work and 2 years at a supervisory level.
- Knowledge of ECOWAS rules and regulations policies procedures and operations.
- Demonstrated professional competence and mastery of administrative law and judicial procedures and ability to review and edit the work of others and manage the functioning of an office and its staff members.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct comprehensive legal research on a range of develop interpersonal negotiation networking and presentation skills with proven abilities to influence explain complex information and demonstrate empathy and open-mindedness.
- Knowledge of the ECOWAS rules and procedures in order to appropriately interpret and apply directive text provide technical advice coach others and assess performance.
- Ability to analyze a situation by using indicators to assess the costs benefits risks and chances for success in making decisions.
- Excellent self-management skills demonstrating ethics and integrity confidentiality and displaying due regards for internal controls of rules delegations and transparency.
- Ability to bring together complementary skills/expertise assess individual contributions and recognize/address accomplishments and shortcomings in a manner that brings continued success to the organization.
