Job Summary
Our entry level Data Center Cabling Technicians perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in a data center for the installation service and maintenance repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling fiber optic cabling communications cabling and other various low voltage cabling systems. Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components cabinets pathway systems (cable tray) move equipment racks and related communications infrastructure materials.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and decommissioning of structured cabling and network infrastructurewithin a data center environment as part of supervised technical training.
- Support rack stack and cable management activitiesin accordance with industry standards and organizational best practices.
- Participate in monitoring data center environments identifying alarms or irregular conditions and escalating findings under guidance.
- Learn and follow Safety Quality and Production standards including applicable codes and industry best practices.
- Read interpret and apply project design drawings technical plans specifications and manufacturer installation guidelinesas part of technical skill development.
- Gain a practical understanding of Structured Cabling System installation testing and commissioningmethodologies.
- Maintain compliance with customer safety security quality and site access requirementswhile performing assigned tasks.
- Participate in training sessions shadowing opportunities and supervised technical activitiesto build professional competencies.
- Document work performed and observations as part of the learning and evaluation process
