Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. Relies on education and training to complete responsibilities within scope of licensure as registered nurse. Assesses a clients health concerns over the phone and recommends appropriate level of care by conducting telephone triage utilizing guidelines that are clinical algorithms designed to provide a directed approach to the clinical decision process required for telephone triage.
Responsibilities
Practice and Care Management
high quality care services while recognizing individual patients rights. Assists patients in exercising their rights including their right to be informed and to participate and make decisions in all aspects of medical care. Ensures that patient care demonstrates respect for personal values and beliefs and is focused on the unique needs of each individual and their family.
information to callers when appropriate about approved care advice in addition to known community resources referral services and education classes.
and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with the specific identified needs of infant pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients. Utilizes appropriate resources as needed for the delivery of appropriate age-sensitive care.
records pertinent patient care data utilizing the computerized medical record Preserves the confidentiality of data and information identified as sensitive for the protection of patient dignity and privacy.

telephone triage assessment utilizing accepted protocols and when appropriate collaborates with team members to define the most appropriate level of care for client.
actively in continuous quality improvement and quality assurance studies in an effort to promote conformity with all hospital and divisional regulations and standards.
all equipment supplies facilities and resources in a prudent and efficient manner in order to ensure efficient departmental operations and the provision of high-quality health care services.
and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety quality assurance and infection control standards.

responsibility for daily personnel assignments unit activities in accordance with established standards and utilizes appropriate techniques when assuming leadership responsibilities. Qualifications

- Education
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Training
- Successful completion of the Medical Call Center course within their first month of employment
- Special Skills
- Proficient in the English language verbal and written communication skills computer skills
- Licensure
- Current Louisiana State license as RN
