Job Summary

To immerse educators in real-world financial operations and compliance practices so they can translate industry experience into stronger more relevant financial education for their students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observe day-to-day financial workflows including account servicing lending processes transactions and department cross-collaboration.
  • Shadow team members in areas such as loan servicing accounts payable/receivable member account maintenance and operational compliance.
  • Assist in basic administrative tasks such as organizing training materials preparing non-sensitive reports or compiling process notes.
  • Observe member interactions (where permissible) to understand ICCUs service culture communication standards and problem-solving strategies.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision. Excellent written/oral communication skills and organization skills. Experience with Microsoft Office multitasking calendaring and document creation. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Credit Union team members at all levels. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.

Performance Standard:

Externs must exhibit professionalism curiosity high-quality work cooperative behavior and a commitment to understanding and respecting ICCUs compliance-driven financial environment. The externship should result in improved educational materials enhanced financial literacy knowledge and a stronger connection between ICCU and local schools. Must comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork filing stapling sorting collating typing counting cash etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper cash drawers marketing material etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists hands and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator computer telephone copy machine fax machine etc.).
