The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry is searching for a Healthcare Coordinator to oversee the contracted healthcare vendors that provide appropriate timely and professional care to inmates at the assigned facilities and/or contract private prisons. As the Healthcare Coordinator this position will monitor and analyze general health care vendor information through direct observation and chart reviews to improve health care delivery.
- Reviews and observes vendor and operational processes that pertain to inmate healthcare including medication administration direct patient care and utilization management
- Analyzes and synthesizes information to ensure appropriate process suggestions
- Reports issues of concerns to supervisory chain of command immediately
- Reviews medical records for appropriateness and timeliness of both on-site and off-site care
- Assists as needed and works collaboratively with site staff and conducts clinical reviews
- Tracks and reports monthly regarding care provided to specific inmates as assigned
- Completes required reports conducts research and composes correspondence attends meetings and trainings as required
- Completes special projects and assignments within time frames
- Develops and maintains spreadsheets to track inmate healthcare access
- Conducts root cause analysis and collaborates with contracted health care vendors and operations to implement and sustain improved processes
- Utilizes clinical knowledge and skills to determine appropriate inpatient or general population placement of inmates
- Collaborates with healthcare vendors ADCRR providers and operations to ensure appropriate bed management of patient and special housing units
- Drives on state business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Principles of healthcare delivery as recommended or mandated by the U.S. Constitution Arizona Revised Statues National Commission on Correctional Health Care Standards American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry policies and procedures
- Professional nursing principles
- Nursing services related to the pharmacological process infection control in a high-risk environment and inpatient capacity management
- Quality assurances and performance improvement practices
