Title: ForgeRock IAM Developer
Location: Toronto ON Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Were looking for an IAM Backend Engineer to join our team in Toronto immediately. Youll work on a ForgeRock 7.5 implementation with a fully decoupled UI and modern SPA-based authentication architecture building secure Java backend services that power a seamless login experience.
What youll do
- Design and implement backend changes to support decoupled UI architecture and updated authentication workflows
- Build backend-driven error handling validation logic and UI response handling
- Enhance and maintain ForgeRock modules in line with the proposed solution design
- Integrate backend services with token-based authentication mechanisms (WAM)
- Write and maintain unit test cases; perform static and dynamic security scans and address findings
- Manage configuration changes for build and deployment pipelines
- Support application deployments across lower staging and production environments
- Implement and improve logging monitoring and audit logging capabilities
- Maintain technical documentation including Swagger/OpenAPI specs design docs and release notes
- Provide knowledge transfer and operational handover to the DevOps team
What you bring
- Strong hands-on experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform 7.5
- Solid Java backend development skills
- Experience with token-based authentication and modern authentication platforms
- Familiarity with SPA frameworks and state management compatibility requirements
- Ability to write clean testable code and document technical designs clearly
Technical skills
- Identity and Access Management: ForgeRock 7.5 (AM IDM DS) OAuth 2.0 OpenID Connect SAML MFA (hard/soft token OTP)
- Backend development: Java RESTful API design token-based authentication (WAM)
- Security: Static and dynamic security scanning vulnerability remediation audit logging
- Frontend compatibility: SPA architecture decoupled UI integration state management
- DevOps and deployment: CI/CD pipeline configuration multi-environment deployment support (dev staging production)
- Documentation: Swagger/OpenAPI specifications technical design docs release notes
Nice to have
- Experience implementing push notification-based authentication with resend capability
- Familiarity with SMS OTP authentication flows
