About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Welder Fabricator to join our production team at Hallam. Reporting to the Fabrication Team leader this hands-on role is responsible for fitting positioning aligning and welding fabricated plates structural shapes and weldments in preparation for assembly into structural fabricated products all in accordance with specifications outlined on engineering drawings. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality precise work that upholds our companys standards and supports project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations;
- Determine required equipment and welding method applying knowledge of metallurgy geometry and welding techniques;
- Lay out position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge a combination square callipers and a ruler;
- Assist with developing templates and other work aids to hold and align parts;
- Ensure the quality of finished goods is in line with Company standards and meets drawing specifications;
- Follow safe working practices in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Policy;
- Adhere to all TNA personal conduct guidelines according to the employee handbook;
- Fit tack weld and flatten various parts according to the dimensions and specifications on the engineering drawings;
- Complete assigned duties on schedule per the direction of the Production Supervisor;
- Track and record timekeeping accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualification and experience
- Basic computer skills experience with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel would be a plus;
- Four years of TIG welding;
- Understanding of metallurgy and strong maths skills required;
- Positive attitude leading by example with a proactive approach to problem-solving;
- Continuous improvement mentality always seeking process improvement opportunities;
- Professional and respectful attitude towards teammates vendors and customers;
- Competency in reading blueprints and recognising welding symbols and specifications;
- Extensive knowledge of TIG and MIG welding processes;
- Able to read blueprints and recognise welding symbols and specifications;
- Able to execute and meet deadlines ensuring & emphasising attention to detail;
- Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team;
- Physical ability to lift carry push or pull up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs) unassisted;
- Able to meet a combination of physical demands of the position such as sitting walking kneeling
- Bending reaching squatting or standing for at least 8 hours per day.
