Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join our team for a major port project in this critical role you will be responsible for overseeing all safety aspects of the project.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs for the port construction project
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for all project phases
- Review and approve safety plans procedures and design documents
- Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Investigate incidents near-misses and accidents providing detailed reports and recommendations
- Collaborate with project managers contractors and stakeholders to integrate safety into all project aspects
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the construction site
- Provide safety training and education to project personnel and contractors
- Stay updated on local and international maritime safety regulations and ensure project compliance
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management and clients
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in safety engineering with a focus on large-scale construction projects
- Proven experience in port construction projects and familiarity with maritime safety regulations
- Strong knowledge of international safety standards for port facilities and construction
- Proficiency in risk assessment incident investigation and safety training methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to influence safety culture across all project levels
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite
