Role Overview:
As Science Teacher you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and specialism. You will work collaboratively within the science department to ensure consistent teaching standards and to support students in achieving strong academic outcomes. The role involves planning engaging lessons assessing student progress and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured science lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Teach across general science disciplines at Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to specialise in biology chemistry or physics.
Assess student progress regularly and provide clear constructive feedback to support development.
Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to reporting cycles.
Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning needs.
Create a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and participation.
Contribute to departmental planning resource development and curriculum improvement.
Participate in parents evenings school events and professional development activities.
Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the wellbeing of all students.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Degree in a science-related subject.
Strong subject knowledge across key science topics.
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.
Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
Willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
