Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Economics Teacher to join a good-rated sixth form college in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about economics and committed to supporting students in developing analytical thinking and a strong understanding of economic theory. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality post-16 education and preparing students for further study and future careers.

Role Overview:
As an Economics Teacher you will deliver engaging and structured lessons primarily at Key Stage 5. You will work closely with colleagues within the business and social sciences faculty to deliver a rigorous and engaging curriculum. The role involves planning lessons that promote independent learning assessing student progress regularly and ensuring that all learners are supported to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality economics lessons aligned with examination board requirements.

  • Teach Key Stage 5 students supporting them in developing analytical mathematical and evaluative skills.

  • Assess and monitor student progress providing timely and constructive feedback.

  • Prepare students effectively for internal and external examinations.

  • Develop engaging teaching materials and contribute to curriculum planning.

  • Support students with coursework revision and exam preparation strategies.

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance achievement and assessment outcomes.

  • Participate in parents evenings open days and student support activities.

  • Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student welfare at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Degree in economics or a closely related subject such as finance or business.

  • Strong knowledge of Key Stage 5 economics curriculum and assessment methods.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to motivate post-16 learners.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice.
