AC Technician (HVAC Technician) – Job Description
Job Summary
An AC Technician is responsible for installing maintaining and repairing air conditioning and HVAC systems in residential commercial or industrial environments. The role ensures systems operate efficiently safely and in compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install inspect maintain and repair air conditioning systems and HVAC equipment
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in AC units
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (cleaning filters checking gas levels etc.)
- Handle refrigerant charging leak detection and recovery
- Read and interpret technical drawings manuals and wiring diagrams
- Troubleshoot compressors condensers evaporators and control systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain service records and prepare reports
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls
- Coordinate with supervisors engineers and clients for job completion
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/ITI/Technical certification in HVAC Mechanical or related field
- Proven experience as an AC Technician or HVAC Technician
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and HVAC systems
- Familiarity with tools like gauges multimeters vacuum pumps etc.
- Understanding of electrical systems and controls
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic communication skills (English preferred in GCC)
Preferred Requirements (GCC/Qatar)
- Experience working in Gulf countries
- Knowledge of VRF/VRV systems (e.g. Daikin Mitsubishi)
- Valid driving license (optional but preferred)
- Awareness of safety standards and regulations in Qatar
Work Environment
- Residential buildings commercial towers malls hospitals or industrial sites
- May involve outdoor work and exposure to heat
- On-call duties for emergency maintenance
