Power Systems Engineer II Dynamic Modeling

We are designing the grid of the future!

Conduct power system studies which particularly relate to existing and future NERC and regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on generator modeling and protection setting coordination.

Howyou can make an impact:

• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD PSS/e TSAT etc.
• Conduct IBR modeling: steady state short circuit and dynamic in PSSE
• Perform various compliance technical assessment on IBR facility rating protection coordination ride through assessment.
• Process generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
• Preparetechnical study reports for all studies performed.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
• Identify training needs and present to the Senior Manager of NERC Compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Identify training needs and present to the Engineering Manageras needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
• Strong technicalreport writing skills.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems
• 2 - 3 years of experience as a power systems engineer
• Experience performing power system impact studies such as Steady State Short Circuit and Dynamic Stability
• Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E PSCAD TSAT
