Position Summary:

The Line Service Manager is responsible for leading and directing activities of Line Service Technicians engaged in providing requested services to general aviation aircraft crew and passengers. The Line Service Manager may perform the same or similar functions as those assigned to the workgroup.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of line service technicians safety and functionality of aircraft service and fuel handling equipment.
  • Ensure all line service operations are conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures airport policies and procedures FAA guidelines EPA guidelines and U.S.D.O.T. guidelines.
  • Hires trains motivates counsels and monitors the performance of all the Line Service department staff.
  • Manages and conducts new hire and recurrent training of Line Service personnel as required by FBO Manager.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations provide training and assist in hiring decisions.
  • Completes personnel monthly schedules and coordinates me off requests for the department and communicates to each employee ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Problem solves safely and efficiently to avoid disruptions in operations.
  • Assist all customers and employees with day-to-day tasks including but not limited to marshaling aircraft wing-walking fueling de-icing help with loading and unloading bags and basic ground operations.
  • Assist with general cleaning and clearing of debris from ramps buildings and customer areas.
  • Provide shuttle service for passengers/crew lavatory and water service as requested.
  • Assist with performing a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning
  • vehicle washing and maintenance aircraft cleaning and vacuuming as needed.
  • Provide world-class service during every interaction with crew members and clientele to maintain
  • long term relationships.
  • Communication of work progress significant issues and recommendations on process or
  • equipment improvements to the FBO Manager.
  • Assist with research and make recommendations regarding new tools and/or equipment needs for the FBO.
  • Oversight of general and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Coordinate with FBO Manager for completion of all fuel record reporting for fuel and farm related audits to meet environmental regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Completes daily quality control inspections.
  • Thorough and timely completion and submission of incident reports. Prompt communication and reporting to the FBO Manager of any incidents that occur.
  • Safely and accurately conduct flight line operations in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform Safety and Security Sensitive Duties including but not limited to GSC (Ground Security Coordinator) duties for chartered airline operations.
  • Assist passengers guests and flight crew with their luggage cargo and other items as a courtesy during their experience at the FBO. This could including loading and unloading into aircraft or rental cars.
  • Relocate aircraft using various towing equipment to ensure proper placement positioning and housing.
  • Perform routine cleaning detailing and general maintenance checks on rental vehicles Company- owned aircraft and Company-owned hangars on the property.
  • Assist guests with a seamless and smooth check out process when handling transactions for services. This may include processing cash or card transactions.
  • Properly and accurately record fuel sales and aircraft arrival and departure times in accordance with Company standards and compliance requirements.
  • Provide after-hours services to aircraft on an as-needed basis dependent on type of service needed or required.
  • Partner with officials such as the FAA to ensure proper safety measures are taken followed and practiced ensuring the highest level of compliance and safety is executed on the property.
  • Work safely in all aspects of the job including following proper FAA safety guidelines documentation and adorning proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves masks eye protection when applicable etc.
  • Responsible for organizing the daily operations of the department within the FBO.
  • Establishes policies and procedures; oversees daily weekly schedules & reviews equipment requirements.
  • Oversee all aspects of the training process for line technicians both new and recurrent.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and all required service and safety checks and directives are completed.
  • Identify and solve problems in the early stages. Look for ways to prevent problems when able.
  • Communicate with management any and all issues that may arise.
  • Understands keeps abreast of manages and complies with federal and state environmental health and safety regulations that affect FBO and fuel handling operations. This includes but may not be limited to:
    • Hazardous Waste Disposal

    • OSHA Right-to-Know

    • Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Policy and Plan

    • Fire Prevention Plan and Policy

    • Hazard Communication Program and Policy

    • Portable Fire Extinguisher Policy

    • Emergency Action Plan and Policy

    • Personal Protective Equipment Program and Policy

  • Inspects and maintains the cleanliness organization and appearance of all FBO and fuel handling areas in accordance with state and federal OSHA or other environmental health and safety laws to ensure a professional safe environment for customers and employees.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Two (2) years of work experience as a Line Service Technician preferred but not required.
  • Must successfully pass the Companys training programs.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers and employees at all times.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions changing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and outside vendors and/or government agencies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include weekends nights holidays and overtime as
  • needed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision demonstrating self-motivation to complete work tasks.
  • Comfortable and willing to work outdoors regardless of and adapting to fluctuating weather conditions during the daytime or nighttime which may include extreme heat cold precipitation or wind.
  • Proficiency with basic calculations including addition subtraction multiplication and division.
  • Strong computer aptitude specifically with FBO management systems web-based programs Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain issuance of Airport Identification and Badging.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Current GSC Certification with Chartered Airlines operating at the FBO.
  • Willingness to comply with the 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40 Random Drug Testing Program.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and industry standards.
  • Must have exceptional leadership team building and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to positively relate and communicate.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate personnel.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license for occasional travel requirements.
  • A professional appearance and manner consistent with Company culture must be maintained.
