Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Analyst Applications (Database Developer with Administrator experience) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing managing and supporting cloud database platforms with a strong focus on Azure SQL and Snowflake. The role includes supporting data migration and reporting workloads performing query performance tuning writing Python and SQL scripts and administering databases to ensure performance reliability and cost efficiency. The candidate should have a strong background in database development and administration with a passion for data optimization and scalable cloud data solutions.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore Caterpillar PSN

What you will do:

• Develop maintain and administer cloud databases including Azure SQL Database and Snowflake.
• Design develop and optimize SQL queries views stored procedures and data models to support application and reporting needs.
• Perform query performance tuning and optimization across Azure SQL and Snowflake environments.
• Write and maintain Python and SQL scripts for data processing automation and operational support.
• Monitor database performance capacity and availability; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
• Implement and maintain database security measures access controls and governance best practices.
• Support scheduled data migration and reporting jobs including data extraction transformation and cleansing from sources such as Oracle Teradata SharePoint Mainframe and other enterprise systems.
• Orchestrate and manage automated jobs using tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG) Qlik SnapLogic Task Scheduler and GitHub.
• Support daily weekly and monthly operational jobs with moderate to high complexity due to diverse data sources and automation dependencies.
• Perform database backup restore and recovery procedures where applicable.
• Work on Azure SQL and Snowflake cost optimization including usage analysis rightsizing and performancecost balance.
• Monitor and enhance APIbased data integrations to improve operational efficiency.
• Handle adhoc data extraction migration and reporting requests from business users and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with application integration and reporting teams to design and implement scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Stay uptodate with the latest cloud database technologies tools and best practices.

What you will have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database development and administration.
• Strong experience in SQL development and database administration.
• Handson experience with Azure SQL Database and/or Snowflake.
• Proficiency in writing advanced SQL and Python scripts.
• Experience with query performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience supporting data migration reporting or analytics workloads.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and access control models.
• Strong problemsolving analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.

Preferred to have:

• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture virtual warehouses and multicluster concepts.
• Handson experience with Snowflake performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience managing Snowflake security RBAC masking policies rowlevel security and data sharing.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with SnapLogic Qlik Power BI Python or other ETL/ELT tools is a plus
• Experience with Snowflake cost optimization including warehouse sizing autosuspend/resume and usage monitoring.
• Exposure to cloudtocloud data migrations involving Snowflake and Azure.
• Good to have knowledge on Power BI or enterprise reporting workloads.

Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
Develops various distinct and multiple technical application designs.
Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.

Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Level Working Knowledge:
Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software.
Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organizations application software.
Drafts application software usage for the departments needs.
Provides instant support for end users of application software.
Implements a specific application software under the supervision of management.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools methods and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Level Working Knowledge:
Follows policies practices and standards for determining functional and informational requirements.
Confirms deliverables associated with requirements analysis.
Communicates with customers and users to elicit and gather client requirements.
Participates in the preparation of detailed documentation and requirements.
Utilizes specific organizational methods tools and techniques for requirements analysis.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications databases and technology platforms.

Assists with current and planned integration initiatives.

Works with applications data technology bridges and a variety of platforms.
Works with existing interfaces as well as integration and migration plans within own area.
Plays an active role in local integration efforts.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Working Knowledge:
Supports the project leader in developing and executing system test plans.
Evaluates system documentation and user manuals for usability accuracy and completeness.
Executes test cases analyzes test results and reports on findings regularly.
Tests system components for compliance with functional requirements.
Participates in the testing of a systems ability to recover from hardware or software failures.
