Job Description

The Power Plant Repair Mechanic is a member of the maintenance team responsible for performing repairs on power plant equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintenance repairs on power plant equipment
• Power Plant mechanical work includes turbines boilers
  • condensers generators heat exchangers and power plant related equipment.
• Work includes assemble disassemble repair and adjust all types of auxiliary equipment.
• Additional work includes dismantle and reassemble boilers and steam turbine generators during inspection.
• Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and General Electric standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements :

• High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED).
• 2 years of general mechanical machine repair and troubleshooting experience.
• Requires knowledge of the operations of mechanical equipment and machinery utilized in a power plant or heating facility.
• Must be able to establish maintain and understand mechanical problems and repair procedures.
• Must be able to use mechanical tools and equipment.
• Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams read and interpret complex technical manuals materials blue prints as well as use shop math.

Eligibility Requirements

• Ability to lift move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 30 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations)
• Ability to work in confined areas work off ladders platforms and heights
• This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e. U.S. citizens permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act 8 U.S.C.

Desired Characteristics

• Massachusetts Power Plant License or prior work experience in a power plant.
• Five years of experience in mechanical diagnosis troubleshooting maintenance andrepair.
• Experience working in an industrial and manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with industrial and Massachusetts regulations.
• Have knowledge and understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Possess strong mechanical abilities.
• Solid understanding of computers & technology with the willingness to use application software and troubleshoot problems.

The pay for this position is37/hr. This posting is expected to closeon12/31/2026.
