Spotsylvania County Public Schools is growing! Were seeking a motivated and energetic Activities Director to support athletic operations throughout our high schools! In this role you will provide direction and coordination for the school activities/athletic operations and athletic department including the staff supervision scheduling of activities and school and community activities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Recruits and retains highly effective coaches for all athletic programs
• Collaboratively coordinates the schools interscholastic schedule and the use of facilities with the school principal activities sponsors and coaching staff
• Administers the athletic programs in accordance with VHSL to determine the eligibility of student-athletes
• Develops a fiscally responsible budget in collaboration with the school principal
• Supervises and assists in the evaluation of coaching staff
• Coordinates all district-hosted tournaments for the state in accordance with VHSL regulations and guidelines
• Schedules the use of facilities for school and community activities
• Facilitates training of coaches in accordance with school board policies/regulations and VHSL regulations/guidelines

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
• Three (3) years of experience as a Head Coach and/or Sponsor ideally within a public education institution
• Ability to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
• Current (valid not expired) Emergency First Aid CPR & AED certification

Preferred

• Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
