Job Summary

- Up to $49.33 per hour inclusive of 24% casual loading

About the role:
The Casual Venue Technician will support the technical andbackstage operations for theatre shows conferences communityevents and gallery exhibitions. The role will install andoperate lighting audio staging and AV while working closelywith hirers to create smooth professional and memorableevents.
What youll be doing:
- Assist venue hirers with technical requirements and deliver highquality event support.
- Rig and operate lighting audio and AV systems.
- Set up staging furniture and equipment for events across the precinct.
- Support the installation of gallery exhibitions.
- Maintain strong communication with hirers staff and contractors.
- Complete event Risk Assessments and follow WHS procedures.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and compliance checks.
- Work collaboratively with Technical Services and Front of House teams.
What youll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the Citys Values and beable to demonstrate the below competencies:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a theatre/event technician.
- Proficiency in computer systems network maintenance and a range of computing skills.
- Proficiency in either lighting audio staging or gallery operations.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- A positive attitude and flexible approach to tasks.
Pre-employment requirements:
- Current C Class drivers licence.
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card).
- Work Safely at Heights Certificate.
Hours and conditions:
This role is casual and the working days and times are expectedto vary between day and evening shifts including weekends.
