ICU takes all high acuity patients from medical surgical and cardiac. We provide specialized care to our patients providing CRRT and Hypothermia with a nursing ratio of 1:1-1:2 basedofacuity. About Wayne Hospital

Wayne Hospital is a Magnet-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical surgical emergency and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957 this 99-bed full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne Westland Garden City Canton Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney failure.

Scope of work

Under the direction of a Nurse the Critical Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Critical Care Technician will provide care according to policies and procedures. Maintains critical care equipment and supplies as directed by unit management. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience as a Nursing Assistant
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required
  • Current CNA certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
