Technical Consultant Hematology

Labcorp is seeking a Technical Consultant to join our team

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.

Job Responsibilities

Assisting in overseeing the technical component of the laboratory to ensure that patient results are reported reliably including reviewing AMR studies and instrument comparisons

Working with the Technical Director and Technical Supervisors to ensure accuracy for all testing in the lab including instrument performance and identifying root causes when issues arise

Provide additional technical support to Technical Director and Technical Supervisors as needed (e.g. validations verification)

Accurately responds to client inquires that are technical in nature and escalate as needed

Effectively communicates with clients physicians nurses and LabCorp staff and provides technical expertise as needed

Projects credibility and builds rapport with medical doctors/LabCorp clients providing quick/accurate responses to inquires

Assists in the review interpretation and reporting of complex and routine test results

Shares experiences and ideas on technical improvements

Adheres to laboratory policies and procedures

Assist with other special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a Chemical or Biological Science Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

5 years or more experience of Technologist in a lab setting

Preferred Qualification:

Current or prior Labcorp experience

ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

CLIA CAP laboratory environment

Have demonstrated hands-on experience with laboratory procedures

Familiarity with LCLS LCWS SIS eAssist and other Labcorp IT systems

Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and EP Evaluator

Demonstrated proficiency in the Hematology Department along with strong knowledge of scientific concepts and effective clinical practices/procedures

Excellent technical and problem solving skills

Discretion in handling confidential information

Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

The position requires the candidate to be extremely organized. Working to tight deadlines flexibility in approach exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
