Job Summary
We are seeking an Asphalt Laborer to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with general construction tasks including loading and unloading materials and operating hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Gather tools needed for the day
- Deliver water to the rollers and plate compactors
- Sweep and rake
- Use shovels rakes brooms and/or other hand tools
- Direct traffic as needed
- Assist operator as needed
- Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willing to travel/work out of town is required for this position
- Experience in construction or related industry preferred
- Must be punctual have a strong work ethic maintain a good attendance record and willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to interact at all levels
- Work overtime nights and weekends as needed
