The Director of Finance Acute Care provides strategic and operational financial leadership for Trinity Health Of New Englands acute care hospitals. Reporting to the Regional CFO this role oversees financial planning budgeting forecasting and capital strategy while collaborating closely with system regional and hospital leadership. The position serves on the Saint Francis Hospital Senior Leadership Team and plays a critical role in driving financial stewardship sustainability and performance in a complex healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic finance leadership for acute care hospitals in partnership with the Regional CFO.
Lead operating and capital budgeting forecasting and long-term financial planning for acute care entities.
Prepare and deliver consolidated operating and capital budgets for Trinity Health of New England.
Oversee financial performance management including ET-9/OEI reporting and target achievement initiatives.
Collaborate with Accounting Revenue Cycle Decision Support Labor Stabilization Capital Operations and System Office partners.
Advise hospital Presidents and Senior Leadership Teams on financial strategy operations and market opportunities.
Ensure financial policies controls and reporting comply with GAAP regulatory and accrediting requirements.
Support Board and Finance Committee reporting and presentations.
Lead mentor and develop acute care finance teams including Directors Managers and Analysts.
Promote Trinity Healths Mission Vision and Values through ethical transparent and collaborative leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or related field (required).
Masters degree (MBA MHA or related) strongly preferred.
10 years of progressive healthcare finance experience including 5 years in a Director-level role.
Deep knowledge of healthcare finance budgeting capital planning and operational performance.
Strong analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to lead in a matrixed system-based healthcare organization.
Excellent executive communication presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.
Willingness to work collaboratively and lead through influence.
Work Environment & Other Requirements
Office-based role with limited regional travel.
