Job Summary
The Clerical Specialist performs clerical functions to aid in the efficient operation of the Surgical Unit. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to interact with adult and geriatric populations. Must be computer proficient and work in an efficient and organized manner. Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to filing answering phone calls scheduling follow-up appointments with outside providers for patients arranging transportation services patient observing virtual monitoring answering call bells and general support of the charge nurse and unit.
Requirements
- One year previous experience in clerical or receptionist position and/or customer service required
- one year experience in healthcare preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred
