As a Senior Commercial Attorney on the Commercial Legal Support team you will play a critical role in supporting NXPs global business operations primarily advising on customer-facing matters including sales agreements and software licensing. You will be responsible for independently negotiating complex commercial transactions advising internal clients and delivering practical business-oriented legal solutions.
This is a fast-paced high-impact role where senior attorneys are trusted to independently drive complex negotiations exercise judgment and shape commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Independently lead contract negotiations and draft a variety of commercial agreements with customers and suppliers.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues related to software licensing product sales legal claims and purchasing.
- Shape and advise on software licensing strategies including novel licensing models and evolving customer use cases.
- Advise senior business sales and technical leaders on high-value time-sensitive commercial transactions.
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues in the Legal Department and across global business units.
- Hybrid work model: minimum 3 days per week in the Austin Texas office; up to 2 days remote.
- Occasional travel required.
Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited university; admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
- 10 years of relevant legal experience ideally within a law firm or an in-house legal department of a multinational corporation.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements including product sales and purchasing contracts.
- Strong background in software licensing transactions and legal issues.
- Proven ability to lead contract negotiations involving parties across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with regulatory matters relating to the semiconductor industry is a plus.
