Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Role

The Purchasing Intern supports the procurement team by assisting with sourcing supplier communication data analysis and administrative tasks that contribute to efficient purchasing operations. This role provides handson experience in supply chain and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internship will focus on projects defined by management and managed by the Intern to completion. This will include:
    • refining the scope of the projects assigned
    • benchmarking existing processes and system
    • defining the desired end result
    • managing multiple projects and timelines to completion
    • report out and successful hand off.
  • Participate in special projects related to supply chain effectiveness.
  • Review and update planning parameters
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Work with vendors internal and external customers on issues; All other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Prior internship coop or handson project experience (academic or extracurricular) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or equivalent productivity tools.
