Description

As an Emergency Management Project Specialist in the Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR) works with leaders across operating units and external stakeholders and assists with emergency planning and continuity of operations planning and implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports operations in the universityÂs emergency operations center and emergency response in the field.
  • Collaborates with operating units to ensure required documentation is entered in systems to maintain continuity of operations plans.
  • Provides guidance to department leadership and students to enhance services provided by CEPAR.
  • Ensures all activities are in compliance with state and national standards rules regulations and practices.
  • Assists with the development and delivery of presentations that will demonstrate achievement of program goals and objectives including exercise planning meetings workshops tabletop and functional exercise documentation.
  • Facilitates after-action meetings and follows up on assigned after-action tasks with stakeholders.
  • Supports operations for Emory Emergency Medical Services (EMS) comprised of a large number of Emory students.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelors degree in healthcare administration emergency management nursing or a related field and one year of emergency management experience OR an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • NREMT Certification as an Advanced EMT with Georgia licensure as an Advanced EMT. Emory EMS Alumni with an understanding of the student EMS program.
  • Former experience as a member of the EEMS command staff preferred.
  • Training specific to conducting exercises using HSEEP methodology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Certification as a BLS CPR Instructor.
  • Certification as a Georgia Emergency Manager within two years of employment.
  • Two or more years working in a variety of roles in an EMS Medical First Responder Program is preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
