About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Level 3 Social Worker to join our Childrens Disability Team. You will work with children and young people with complex disabilities and their families delivering statutory social work within a wholefamily strengthsbased personcentred approach.

As a Level 3 practitioner you will hold a complex caseload provide highquality assessments and planning and undertake safeguarding and riskmanagement responsibilities where needs are significant. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies contribute to multiagency reviews and support improving outcomes for children and families.

This post requires an experienced practitioner able to apply enhanced knowledge professional curiosity and critical reflection in challenging highrisk or complex situations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential Qualifications

  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Social Work England registration.

Essential Experience

  • Significant postqualification experience undertaking social work with children young people and families.
  • Experience of working with children with disabilities and complex needs including assessment planning intervention and review.
  • Experience managing a complex caseload with autonomy and delivering safe evidencebased practice.
  • Experience contributing to or leading safeguarding enquiries risk assessments and multiagency planning.

Essential Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 & 2004 Working Together to Safeguard Children and disabilityrelated statutory duties.
  • Enhanced understanding of risk complexity and safeguarding practice in childrens services.
  • Knowledge of child development disability and the impact of SEND on children and families.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to undertake highquality strengthsbased assessments and develop outcomefocused plans.
  • Skilled in managing challenging conversations working empathetically with families and maintaining professional authority.
  • Ability to critically reflect analyse information and make sound professional decisions in complex situations.
  • Strong written communication and recording skills including report writing for statutory meetings and court (if required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies and contribute effectively to multiagency reviews.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to the development of others.
  • A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
