PURPOSE OF POSITION
The CNC2 Operator is responsible for the set up within the cell including operating machines such as CNC lathes milling machines boring machines and grinders to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces as well as training other employees.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs entire set ups in the cell and performs CNC offsets
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications
• Operate machine by loading and unloading product in fixtures and start machine for automatic cycles
• Perform critical gauging and inspection of the work produced to insure quality of close tolerance procedures
• Work with Team Lead on scheduling work to machines and perform the hourly checks including safety quality and production
• Recognize quality issues and follow all safety guidelines
• Communicate with Team Lead and follow instructions

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

Work Experience Required:

• 2-3 years related experience operating CNC machine and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Considerable skill and knowledge of practice and application to set up and operate machines such as lathes grinders and other designated equipment.
• Understanding and experience with CNC G and M Codes

Skills & Knowledge Required:

• Mathematical aptitude and ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers common fractions and decimals
• Capable of using common sense understanding to carry our detailed instructions including written and oral
• Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft office

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly required to stand walk reach stoop kneel crouch and use hands
• Required to lift and/or move 10 lbs regularly and up to 33 lbs occasional
• Use of vision including peripheral color distance depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts strong fumes and loud noises
• Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures
