About This Role

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Clerical Officer roles in the Media Development and Media Funding teams is to be responsible for the administration aspects of the Journalism Digital Transformation Sound & Vision and News Reporting Schemes.

About the Teams

The Funding Team is part of the Media Landscape Division and is responsible for administering funding schemes that support the production and preservation of culturally significant broadcast content. This includes Sound & Vision a funding scheme for television and radio which supports the creation of high quality programmes - in both English and Irish - focused on Irish culture heritage and experience as well as initiatives aimed at improving adult literacy. Media Development is also part of Coimisiún na Meáns Media Landscape Division. A key responsibility of the team is to oversee funding programmes and support the ongoing development of the wider media sector in Ireland. The team manages several funding schemes established following recommendations from the Future of Media Commission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing general administrative assistance to the team appointed to including preparing correspondence and assisting with organising filing scanning and recording documentation supporting compliance and governance initiatives.
  • Assisting in the implementation of operational work activities supporting managers and other colleagues.
  • Assisting in checking compiling documenting and filing of funding contracts.
  • Providing high-quality customer service responding to queries and providing information including responding to queries from the public.
  • Data and file management in line with the An Coimisiúns policies and requirements.
  • Providing support at events organising meetings and taking meeting minutes.

About You

Experience Skills Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word Excel Outlook)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexibly across a range of schemes and tasks as required
  • Ability to work on own initiative while also responding effectively to direction

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience administering applications grants or funding schemes
  • Broad knowledge of the Irish media landscape

Key Information Benefits Package & Pay

  • These positions are offered on a Permanent basis.
  • Full time 35 hrs per week
  • Annual Leave: 22 days per annum
  • The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working. Our current hybrid policy is 2 days in the office.
  • Our office is located at One Shelbourne Buildings Shelbourne Road Dublin 4 D04 NP20.

  • Successful candidates will be appointed on the first point of the scale.
