Job Summary
Overview
This position is designed for the general maintenance of all buildings grounds and vehicles of The Salvation Army New Kensington Corps and to aid with transportation per Salvation Army business
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all maintenance and janitorial duties according to schedule.
- Exterior responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily trash pick-up.
- Seasonal snow shoveling snow blowing ice melt application as needed.
- Seasonal grass cutting weed trimming brush/tree trimming as needed.
- Interior responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Removal of trash.
- Daily restroom cleaning.
- Sweeping and mopping floors vacuuming carpets dusting furniture and cleaning windows.
- Stripping waxing and buffing floors as assigned .
- Setting up and taking down tables and chairs for various programs at the discretion of immediate supervisor.
- Monitor inventories of maintenance supplies and request materials as needed.
- Check all doors at the beginning and end of shift.
- Ensure that all Salvation Army vehicles are properly maintained through direction of the Corps Officer.
- Run errands conduct pick-ups per Salvation Army business as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
- Must have pleasant personality and be able to work well with other employees and must be of a confidential nature.
- Must be able to lead and direct other maintenance workers such as community services workers volunteers etc.
- Must have sufficient knowledge to properly operate floor maintenance equipment.
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance Request for Criminal Record and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Armys KeepSAfe training required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
- Current valid Drivers License
