The Richmond R-XVI School District is currently seeking a Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
Various teaching certifications are potentially being considered to combine with this position based on District needs and the applicants credentials.
Title: Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach
Reports to: The head varsity coach shall report directly to the Athletic Director and the Coach shall be evaluated a minimum of once each year.
Qualifications: Current Missouri State teaching certificate. Previous coachingExperience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Shall be responsible for overseeing the entire grades 8 12 boys basketball program and coaches
- Set up practice schedules with the athletic director
- Notify parents and athletic director if an injury occurs
- Transportation requests will be sent to the athletic director
- File all year end reports:
- Letter winners
- Season records
- Inventory
- All conference district state honors
- Complete official rating forms and return to the athletic director
- Shall handle the equipment distribution and collection
- Submit to the athletic director a budget of needs for the program
- Fill out requisitions and purchase orders and submit to the athletic director
- Assist the athletic director with game scheduling
- Check eligibility of all participants
- Keep an open line of communication with the athletic director and other administration
- Arrange for building usage
- Shall attend Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC) meetings
- Shall attend MSHSAA rules meetings
- Shall prepare rosters and present to the athletic director
- Direct assistant coaches
- Maintain inventories
- Enforce training rules
- Attend practices and games
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops
- Be active in off-season camps shoot-outs and clinics
- Improve the program by encouraging students to participate in the sport at all levels
- Shall be supportive of all programs
- Comply with all policies and regulations as stated in the coaches handbook
- Coaches may be assigned other duties at the discretion of the administration
- The head coach will evaluate their assistant coaches
