Position Overview:
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) / Psychotherapist shall provide professional clinical supervision and consultation services to OCME Drug Intelligence and Intervention Group (DIIG) social work staff. The role focuses on strengthening clinical practice supporting professional development addressing secondary trauma and ensuring high-quality grief support services for clients impacted by opioid overdose-related loss. Services are delivered through structured one-on-one clinical supervision sessions and collaborative consultation with OCME leadership.

Qualifications:
- Job qualifications & certifications:
- Active and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in New York State
- Minimum one (1) year of experience providing clinical supervision to LMSW-level personnel
- Prior experience in medical legal forensic public health or similarly complex setting
- Experience supporting clinicians providing grief counseling related to opioid overdose or traumatic loss
- Skills:
- Advanced clinical supervision and consultation skills
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Ability to support clinicians managing secondary traumatic stress
- Professional judgment discretion and confidentiality
- Effective communication and collaborative engagement
- Cultural competence and ethical practice standards
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular 45-minute one-on-one clinical supervision sessions with DIIG social workers
- Support supervises in development:
- Clinical knowledge and counseling skills
- Self-awareness and reflective practice
- Individualized skill-building goals
- Assist clinicians in processing work-related stress vicarious trauma and well-being concerns
- Promote ethical effective and trauma-informed grief support practices
- Identify learning needs and reinforce supervisee strengths
- Provide consultation aligned with OCME program objectives
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding supervision discussions
- Introduce and model use of supervision frameworks including:
- Belief structures and worldview
- Culture and values
- Transference and countertransference
- Parallel process in supervision
- Participate in regular coordination meetings with:
- DIIG Supervising Social Worker
- DIIG Deputy Director
- Ensure alignment and consistency in supervisory scope standards and messaging
