About the Role:
Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within Building Construction programs; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in
support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the Colleges mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to campus expectations of faculty performance and engagement.

This position is funded through a grant that has been awarded to Ivy Tech Community College. Employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of that grant funding. While the current grant period is AY 2026 continued funding is not guaranteed. If grant funds are exhausted without confirmation of a forthcoming grant funding extension
this position will be eliminated and employment with the College terminated.

Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Building Construction Technology

Compensation: $47.35/ Contracted Hour

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance withCollege policy and course objectives.
Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Develops/maintains course outlines syllabi lesson plans assignments tests andmaterials. Maintains accurate student records grades and other requirements.
Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact studentlearning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College showsevidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategiesfocused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative mannercomplies with College policies campus guidelines and expectations.

Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures forclassrooms labs and all learning environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area ofinstruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s)of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation respect and promotion ofdiversity of people styles and views

A qualified adjunct faculty member meets the education component of the School ofAdvanced Manufacturing Engineering & Applied Science discipline standard through oneof three routes:
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accreditedinstitution in technology engineering engineering technology; or an earnedbaccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the programs discipline and
Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught asindicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
Two years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to thecompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
OR
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accreditedinstitution And possesses any specialized certifications required for the class beingtaught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
Five years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to thecompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
OR
Possesses an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accreditedinstitution directly related to the programs discipline and
Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught asindicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
Three years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to thecompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).

Other Requirements:
Building trade experienced
Carpentry experienced
Transcripts and/or relevant certifications/licenses required at time of hire
Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a satisfactory backgroundcheck
Preferred Requirements:
National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) involvement orcertifications
