Description
The Semmes Murphey Clinic is looking for a Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our patient care team. Our technicians perform electroencephalograms and nerve conduction studies to assist our physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You will work alongside other members of our neurodiagnostic team to provide excellent patient care and are expected to participate in appropriate team activities with the objective of providing high quality clinical services.
This is a part time role that may require close to full time hours between the start date and August or September of 2026 to accommodate the needs within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct quality electroencephalograms and nerve conduction studies
- Collect patients medical information needed to customize test
- Explain testing procedures to patients answering questions and reassuring patients as needed
- Use proper electrode placement and accurate measurements
- Indicate artifacts and interference such as poor electrode contact or patient movement
- Submit reports to physicians
- Assist in training technicians
- Participate in conferences technical meetings and continuing education
- Performs routine maintenance trouble shoots and makes minor repairs on neurodiagnostic equipment arranging repairs as needed
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited institution for Neurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent of on the job training
- Must be registered in EEG through ABRET or Registered in NCS through ASET within 3 years from date of hire
