Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic (Back Office)

Location: Largo Maryland

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the back office of a behavioral health outpatient clinic provides essential nursing support to clinicians and patients. The LPN assists with clinical procedures patient assessments medication administration and coordination of care ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a compassionate approach tailored to the unique needs of individuals with behavioral health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support:
    • Assist clinicians during patient examinations and procedures.
    • Obtain and record vital signs weight and other relevant clinical data.
    • Administer medications and injections as prescribed adhering to safety protocols.
    • Perform routine clinical tasks such as EKGs blood draws and specimen collection.
    • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
  • Patient Care Coordination:
    • Triage patient concerns and communicate changes in condition to the clinical team.
    • Provide patient education on medication use side effects and self-care strategies.
    • Support patients in managing chronic behavioral health conditions.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Accurately document clinical findings procedures and patient interactions in electronic health records (EHR).
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA OSHA and clinic policies.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Clinic Operations:
    • Assist with scheduling rescheduling and census management as needed.
    • Support front office functions during peak times or staff shortages.
    • Maintain clinical supplies and ensure proper storage of medications and equipment.

 


    Qualifications :

    Qualifications:

    • Current and valid LPN license in Maryland
    • Minimum of 1-2 years nursing experience preferably in behavioral health or outpatient settings.
    • Knowledge of behavioral health conditions and medications is preferred.
    • Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.
    • Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

    Additional Information :

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Manual dexterity for performing injections and handling clinical equipment.
    • Ability to assist patients with mobility as needed.

    Work Environment:

    • Fast-paced outpatient behavioral health clinic.
    • Exposure to patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
    • Adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
    • Ability to stand/walk for 60% of the shift and lift up to 20-30 lbs. 
    • Seeking optimistic and open minded individual to start immediately
    • Flexible scheduling between 10am-8:00pm five days per week. some Saturday work 10am-2pm once or twice monthly may be needed.
