As Legal Counsel youll join our in-house legal team in the commercial division where you will collaborate cross-functionally with departments throughout the Company to navigate complex challenges of a billion-dollar SaaS provider support the creation of processes and procedures and safeguard our business interests and champion compliance.
Youll have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by a collaborative caring and experienced group of attorneys and paralegals. You will assist in providing creative solutions to a dynamic team of executives and employees to support our business. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
An analytical dynamic and creative individual (a great sense of humor wont hurt) who enjoys moving quickly and learning new things -- seeking to support the needs of a sophisticated SaaS company with a variety of different compelling product will have the opportunity to showcase your strong communication skills with all levels of internal teammates (including executives) and third parties (customers and vendors). You will report directly to our VP Senior Associate General Counsel.
THE SCHEDULE:
The role is full time in office either Miami FL or Norwalk CT.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts including vendor supply service licenses non-disclosure leases hardware and all forms of SaaS agreements.
- Provide legal advice support and assist on an array of matters including privacy AI and cybersecurity.
- Strategize with the legal team and business to develop solutions and processes throughout the entire organization.
- Lead special projects including continuous improvement initiatives in the contract management process AI compliance regulatory (really anything!) and improve legal operational efficiencies.
- Assist in training the business teams including sales procurement and support organizations to improve their knowledge and understanding of legal self-help information contractual terms and their impact on the business.
- Interact with various subsidiaries across the globe in addressing legal concerns and issues.
- Assist with all day-to-day legal matters as they arise.
WHAT YOULL BRING:
- Admitted to a State Bar within the US in active and good standing.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school within the US.
- 3-8 years of post-Bar admission experience preferably initially in a reputable commercial or corporate law firm and then within an in-house legal department but either are acceptable.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and working with a large sales team is preferred.
- Experience in a SaaS company is a strong plus.
- Some understanding of software privacy and AI-related laws.
- Ability to work efficiently quickly and handle a high volume of high-priority matters at any given time.
- Strong analytical negotiating writing and communication skills with excellent interpersonal communications skills (written and verbal) required.
- Team player who can also work independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Work beyond normal business hours and some travel is required occasionally to support business needs or projects.
