Position Summary

This Fundamental Trading Analyst supports MPCs NGLs commercial organization by delivering high-impact NGLs and specialty products (i.e. petrochemicals) market analytics that directly inform commercial decision making. The role is responsible for end-to-end fundamental analysis including global supply-demand balances flow dynamics and freight economics and converts complex market signals into timely actionable insights embedded within trading workflows.

This position is designed as a key analytics role with direct proximity to trading activity requiring strong commercial judgment analytical ownership and close collaboration with traders schedulers and origination teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage NGLs and specialty products supply-demand models including flows demand inventories fleet supply and pricing relationships.
  • Ensure accuracy consistency and integrity across assigned market databases models and reporting outputs through validation checks and reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor vessel movements trade route shifts and structural market changes impacting freight markets.
  • Identify and highlight market risks dislocations and emerging opportunities in both physical and paper NGLs markets for senior team review.
  • Assist in providing timely intelligence and forward-looking insights to trading scheduling and origination teams.
  • Respond to routine data and analysis requests under guidance.
  • Translate complex market dynamics into clear actionable strategies using modeling visualization and analytical tools.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Finance Marketing Economics Engineering Marine or related discipline required.
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in Commercial Risk Trading Analytics Marine Scheduling or Marketing required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in analytical modeling scenario analysis and visualization tools
  • Familiarity with data visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI Tableau or similar platforms
  • Experience working with large datasets (AIS market data feeds pricing services) and translating them into commercial insights with supervision.
  • Working knowledge of NGLs supply-demand fundamentals including production refining inventories and global trade patterns.
  • Experience analyzing NGLs markets and regional pricing benchmarks
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to commercial stakeholders with senior guidance.
