Production Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Underwriter to join a innovative and growing monoline Workers Compensation Insurance team. This role is pivotal in driving business growth fostering strong agency relationships and evaluating risks within the Upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania territory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting and agency relationship management with a focus on accounts ranging from $100000 to $2M in premium volume. This is a remote position with travel required within the designated territory and a company car will be provided.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary: $100000 - $150000 (commensurate with experience)
- Bonus Potential: Performance-based bonuses

Responsibilities
- Risk Management & Analysis: Conduct thorough risk assessments and risk analysis on new and renewal submissions to maintain loss ratio profitability.
- Agency & Broker Relationships: Develop strengthen and grow relationships with insurance agents and brokers aligned with target markets in the Upstate NY and Western PA territory.
- Business Growth & Retention: Drive new business growth while ensuring high levels of customer retention.
- Underwriting Review: Present detailed account reviews that align with growth and profitability objectives.
- Field Representation & Education: Represent the company in the field educate agency partners and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting with a strong focus on workers compensation and agency relationships.
- Ideal candidates will have 15 years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong agency and broker relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and underwriting processes.
- Strong communication negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Willingness to travel within the Upstate NY and Western PA territory.
