What Retail Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Healths pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals hospital retail customers ambulatory care and alternate site facilities oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.

Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public in accordance with legal ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position floating between Access Health Blue Island Access Health Arlington Heights and Howard Brown on W. 63rd Steet

Pharmacy Hours vary by location but employee will be expected o be available Monday-Friday 9:00am-7:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am-3:00pm

The role of the Technician II Retail Pharmacy plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains professional working relationships with all medical personnel.

  • Understands that the requirements of working in a pharmacy

  • Be available to the customer/patients and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude when dealing with customers.

  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures rules and regulations.

  • Organizes and assists pharmacist

  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred

  • Registration in state in which the position is located (if applicable)

  • National pharmacy technician certification required

  • At least 2-4 years with retail pharmacy technician related experience preferred

  • 340B experience preferred

  • May require vendor credentialling

  • Maintains appropriate licenses training and certifications

  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution

  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods

  • Adheres to all quality guidelines

  • Works under moderate degree of supervision

  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor

  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor

Anticipated hourly range:$21.20 per hour - $27.18 per hour
