CT Technologist- PRN
Job Summary
Overview
As a Correctional CT Technologist for NaphCare you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide Imaging services to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment where security is top priority and the days are never dull you will have various duties to keep you engaged including ensuring quality images are made for doctors while maintaining patient safety comfort and accurate records. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.
Responsibilities
The CT Technologist isresponsible for producing diagnostic medical images of patients internal anatomy by operating X-ray equipment positioning patients and applying radiation safety protocols. Additional duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
- Explaining procedures to patients answering questions and protecting patients from unnecessary radiation exposure using shields.
- Positioning patients and adjusting imaging equipment (e.g. setting calibrating) to capture clear precise images of bones organs or tissues.
- Utilizing maintaining and cleaning CT machines and imaging technology.
- Recording patient data maintaining Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and preparing reports.
- Working with radiologists and doctors to ensure high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
- Assisting with scanning and uploading medical records
- Assisting where able in the clinic VS helping the providers or charge nurses with tasks etc
- Provide X-ray imaging as needed
- Assist supply clerk putting supplies away getting deliveries from front lobby etc
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education / Licenses / Certifications / Requirements
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (Associate or Bachelors degree).
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or state licensure.
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment understanding radiation safety protocols and knowledge of anatomy.
- Strong patient care communication and interpersonal skills along with physical stamina for positioning patients.
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies procedures and legal requirements
- Must pass the facilitys criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds) bend squat reach push pull walk significant distances and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
