About the Team

Postman sits at the center of how the worlds APIs get built tested and consumed. Thats an insane dataset. If youve been deep in the agent tooling ecosystem building with sandboxes remote execution environments code generation pipelines and youve been thinking about what all of this looks like when its backed by real-world API intelligence at massive scale this is the role.

Were building Agent Mode and the next generation of AI-powered capabilities at Postman. We just released Postman v12 but in the AI world every day is day zero. Check out the latest demo.

This doesnt mean bolting a chat window onto an existing product. Its rethinking what an API platform becomes in an AI-native API-first world where agents dont just assist developers they become developers. Postman has a unique position to make that real and we need people who already intuitively understand why.

What we need from you

You live in this space. Youre not reading about agents from the sidelines youre building with them breaking them and forming opinions about why certain architectures work and others dont. You can talk about the tradeoffs between different sandboxing approaches how workspace and execution environments shape agent capabilities and what the actual bottlenecks are in shipping reliable AI features. Your opinions are evidence-backed because youve done the work either in production or for exploration.

Youve used AI to 10x yourself. Not theoretically. You have multiple concrete examples side projects open source contributions internal tools workflow automations where you used AI tooling to operate at a fundamentally different level of output. If you havent been experimenting with almost every new model framework and dev tool that drops this probably isnt the right fit.

You can go from prototype to production. We need people who can evaluate a new paper or technique on Monday have a working prototype by Wednesday and ship a production-quality version by the end of the week. The space moves too fast for anything less.

You know the tradeoffs and youre still experimenting. You can speak to the pros and cons of different orchestration frameworks context management strategies tool use patterns and data pipelines. But you also know that what didnt work last month might work tomorrow with a new model or a different approach.

What the work looks like

  • Design and build agent architectures backed by Postmans unique API knowledge graph collections environments schemas real-world usage patterns across millions of workspaces
  • Build and manage the data pipelines and experimentation infrastructure that let us ship AI features fast
  • Move between research and production at speed prototype new approaches validate them with real users and iterate relentlessly
  • Stay on the bleeding edge of the tooling ecosystem: sandboxes remote execution workspace environments model capabilities and new paradigms as they emerge
  • Collaborate across engineering research design and product to figure out what AI-native API development actually looks like and then build it

Why this matters

Every major AI agent being built today needs to talk to the world through APIs. Postman already has the largest connected API ecosystem on the planet. The opportunity here is to build the intelligence layer that makes AI-native development not just possible but default in the API-first world. If youve been building agent tooling and wishing you had better data better distribution or a bigger surface area to work with this is it.

The basics

  • 5 years of engineering experience shipping products at scale
  • Youve gotten deep enough into AI that you want to work on it full time and you have the projects contributions or experiments to prove it
  • You sense that theres a massive opportunity in the AI<>API space waiting to be built.
  • Product instinct you care about what ships and whether it works for real users not just whether the architecture is elegant

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area Boston Austin Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce leadership team and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge brainstorming sessions communication and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
