Skeo is a small consulting firm that provides innovative and collaborative solutions for our clientsemphasizing environmental stewardshipand economicopportunity. We are seeking an intern to join our dynamic and talented team of professionals.
As a GIS intern you will support a variety ofgovernmentprojects thatfrequentlyinclude geospatial analysis in a client-facing capacity. This intern willassistin buildingmaintaining modifying or using geographic informationsystemsdatabasesandperform some custom application development or provide user support. You willassistwith research writing documentpreparationand coordination of meetings and events. You will gain experience across multiple areas of consulting. The ability to manage multiple assignments respond to deadlines communicateresponsively and produceaccuratework isrequired.
The position will work approximately25 hours per we are only considering applicants residing within the state of Virginia at this time the role maywork remotely orin our Charlottesville Virginia travel may be required depending on project needs.

Example Projects:
Mapping and Spatial Analysis: Create maps using Esri ArcGIS tools and analyzedataasrequired.
Data Creation and Cleanup: Digitize locations from aerial imagery clean and standardize datasets and contribute to data hygiene.
Building Dashboards and Automation:May build dashboards or create automation for tasks using ExcelPythonor other supported tools.
Research: Researching and collecting projects may vary but wouldlikely berelated toGIS mappingand boundaryworkorreuses on Superfund sites.
Meeting Support: Scheduling note-takingidentifyingpotential venues developing PowerPoint presentations checking in participants and answering questions.
Document Review:Assistingwith ensuring that documents are 508 compliant and reviewing completed documents for compliance and accuracy.
General Tasking: Completing general research data entry and writing tasks to inform the development of fact sheets videosStoryMapsand other communication materials.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum education of a bachelors degree inGeology Geospatial Science GeographyGISora relatedfield.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word Teams PowerPoint and Publisher.
One or more years of experience working with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
Familiarity with industry standards best practices and emerging trends in GIS technology.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly collaborative effectively and produceaccuratewritten work.
Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration while managing multiple priorities.
High speed internet access if working remotely.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
One or more years of experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise and Survey 123.
One or more years of experience working withGeoAI.
Familiaritywith or understanding of GIS automation tools including ArcGIS Python API orArcPyto communicate between technical teams and clients.
ProficiencywithPowerBIor Python.

Remote or in-office: You can work remotely or join us at our office in Charlottesville Virginia. Applicants must have internet access that allows them to perform tasks requiring major data transfers. Skeos standard operating hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday. Paid internship: The pay for this position is $25 per hour.
