DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for product development of optical laser modules
- Lead and manage new product introduction projects
- Design modules for quality cost performance and manufacturability.
- Identify key suppliers and technologies for packaging electro optical components
- Work with the laser diode development team to co-design a module meeting the customer requirements
- Help drive the packaging technology roadmap forward
- Design modules with consideration for RF Thermal Mechanical Optical Reliability aspects
- Analyze build results with statistical methods to identify performance or yield improvement options
Education & Experience
- Minimum 7 yr. experience in a similar role packaging consumer electronic or communication components.
- BS/MS Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Physics or equivalent degree.
Skills
- Project management
- Strong knowledge of advanced optical / electrical component packaging methods
- Design skills (RF Thermal Mechanical Optical) of subcomponents (substrate housings optics) and assembly processes (example epoxy soldering flip chipping) on silicon (e.g. driver) ceramic and PCBs
- Knowledge of simulation software (e.g. COMSOL Zemax ANSYS HFSS)
- Understanding of semiconductor lasers (VCSELs and EELs) is desirable
- Understanding of RF substrate design for data communication applications
- Programming skills desirable
- Statistics data analysis (CpK SPC etc.)
- Strong interpersonal teaming and problem-solving skills
