BDU is seeking a highly organized and strategic Assistant Principal & Master Scheduler. This role is critical to the academic infrastructure of our Early College model. The successful candidate will not only oversee daily operations and safety but will also serve as the primary architect of the schools Master Schedule ensuring that student pathways college-credit courses and staff allocations are optimized for student success.
The Assistant Principal is responsible for the development implementation and maintenance of the BDU Master Schedule.
Core Responsibilities
Administrative Operations & Communication
Daily Coordination: Participate in daily morning meetings with the Principal; maintain rapid responsiveness to emails and texts.
Staff Support: Act as the primary point of contact for daily substitute assignments and check in daily with administrative support staff (Ms. Roberson).
Facilities: Manage all facility rental requests including insurance verification and custodial coordination (e.g. Lions Club Baseball conditioning).
Testing Coordination & Security
Lead Testing Coordinator: Oversee all aspects of PSAT (Fall) WIDA (January) and SAT (March).
Compliance: Manage all College Board certifications staff training and rigorous test security documentation.
Communication: Distribute testing schedules and results to staff and submit all formal plans to the Principal for final approval.
Student Management & Safety
Behavior & Attendance: Manage student discipline via Skyward; oversee behavior and attendance contracts and the Cell Phone Discipline tracker.
Personnel Leadership: Lead the Paraprofessional team facilitating regular meetings and overseeing Learning Center/Directed Study environments.
Safety & Security: Update the School Safety Plan; lead the Safety Team; coordinate drills via Navigate 360; and manage the daily Supervision Schedule
Recruitment & Community Engagement
Early College Pipeline: Coordinate 8th-grade recruitment visits and interviews in partnership with the Recruitment Team.
Evening Presence: Represent BDU leadership at mandatory evening events including Academic Award nights Recruitment nights (8 into 9/9 into 10) and community Thrive nights.
