Location: Gunnison Utah
Position Summary
The ATF Officer is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all applicable federal regulations governed by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF). This role oversees regulatory adherence across all applicable operations maintains precise records monitors transactional activity and supports internal teams in executing compliant processes. The ATF Officer plays a critical role in minimizing regulatory risk and ensuring the organization operates within all legal requirements.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in compliance criminal justice business or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of ATF regulations compliance standards and reporting requirements
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments
- Proficiency with record-keeping systems and compliance reporting tools
- Prior experience in a compliance or regulated industry role preferred
- Experience in alcohol tobacco firearms or explosives industries is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate complete and audit-ready records in accordance with ATF regulations
- Ensure all required documentation is properly completed filed and retained
- Monitor transactions and operational activities to identify potential compliance risks or discrepancies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve compliance issues
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports accurately and on time
- Support and coordinate internal and external audits and ATF inspections
- Stay current on changes to ATF regulations and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance requirements and best practices
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and assist with inquiries or investigations
- Conduct internal compliance reviews and audits to assess adherence and identify areas for improve
