Principal Research & Investment Specialist Real Estate
Mercer is seeking a talented individual to join our Real Estate Research & Investment this position you will have the opportunity to work as part of a global team serving Mercers discretionary and advisory institutional client base. The role involves leading investment due diligence and research while actively contributing to client service and business development efforts through the creation and delivery of high-quality analysis and intellectual capital. This role will be based in London and is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
Be recognised as an expert in real estate industry dynamics including a solid understanding of the various competitive strategies amongst managers and the different access routes to the asset class
Reporting to the Head of Real Estate for Europe a key aspect of the role is leading the end-to-end due diligence process for underwriting primary and co-investment strategies
Proactively source and evaluate new investment opportunities across the UK and European real estate universe by cultivating trusted industry relationships engaging with prospective managers attending relevant events and conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis
Actively contribute to client service and business development efforts through face-to-face meetings and supporting the creation and delivery of high-quality promotional materials and intellectual capital
Portfolio management and investment decision responsibilities as part of relevant Portfolio Construction Groups Rating Review Committees and membership of the Investment Committee if appropriate
Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills strong attention to detail and the ability to function well in a team-based environment
What you need to have:
Solid experience within the real estate industry or in manager research
Evidence of intelligent investment decisions and their results
Strong proven written and oral communication skills
Solid interpersonal and organisation skills
A collegial team-oriented constructive can do attitude
Unquestioned honesty integrity and transparency
Well versed in standard MS Office applications
An undergraduate degree from a leading institution
