Job Overview:
- Seeking a hands-on Java Market Data Developer to support its Market Data Engineering and Development team focused on building and enhancing real-time data platforms and integrations with leading market data vendors such as Bloomberg and LSEG/Refinitiv.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain high-performance Java-based market data applications and services.
- Integrate and support vendor market data APIs (Bloomberg B-Pipe Refinitiv Elektron etc.).
- Build real-time data ingestion normalization and distribution pipelines.
- Partner with trading quant and infrastructure teams to deliver low-latency data solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to market data feeds entitlements and distribution.
- Optimize system performance scalability and reliability across market data platforms.
- Contribute to architecture and design of next-generation market data systems.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10 years of Java development experience in financial services.
- Strong experience with market data systems and vendor APIs (Bloomberg LSEG/Refinitiv).
- Hands-on experience with real-time streaming and messaging technologies (Kafka Solace Tibco etc.).
- Solid understanding of market data concepts (pricing reference data symbology entitlements).
- Experience building low-latency high-throughput systems.
- Strong debugging and production support capabilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Knowledge of FIX protocol or trading systems.
- Exposure to Python for scripting or data analysis.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and distributed systems.
