Job Summary:
The Manual Mill Machinist operates manual milling machines to fabricate parts. The machinist loads parts in the machine cycles the machine and detects malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots communicates with co-workers regarding production runs and maintains a safe organized and clean work environment.
Shift Hours:
This is a day shift position. Hours are 6:00 AM 4:30 PM. (Overtime as needed)
Functional Job Duties:
- Plans machining from work orders blueprints engineering plans materials specifications and drawings
- Sets up and operates manual mills by installing and adjusting chucks tools attachments collets bushings cams gears stops and stock pushers
- Verifies settings and maintains specifications
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety procedures
- Performs inspection of machined products and documents results
- Completes and maintains paperwork for parts
- Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication lay-up infiltration furnace operations and sand blasting tasks
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with manual milling machines.
