About the Clinical Genetics and Genomics Service

The Clinical Genetics and Genomics service at Bayside Health is a diagnostic and predictive health service that provides genetic counselling for adults with suspected or known inherited genetic condition/s.

The Role

The role of the Clinical Intake Assistant is to perform a range of tasks to support and assist in the preparation of patients for clinic and in the day-to-day function of the service and clinics.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Patient focused compassionate attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy legislation
  • Working knowledge and experience in electronic patient management systems e.g. Cerner Programs Trakgene
  • Previous telephone experience
  • Previous exposure or experience working within a Clinical Genetics Service or current student of a Genetic Counselling
