Job Description

As management-/office assistant you will perform secretarial tasks and support program directors and researchers in the organization of events such as outreach to schools and scientific meetings.

This position is anchored in the Discrete Mathematics cluster one of three clusters constituting the mathematics domain in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. You will become the first point of contact for the cluster within the TU/e organization as well as for external parties. The department runs a Bachelors and Masters program in mathematics. These efforts are led by the Program directors mathematics (main and deputy). You will assist them and the domain chair in organizing information collection across clusters provide secretarial support for research assessments and education visitations and also be the first point of contact for questions regarding the Mathematics domain.

In this role you will contribute to the ambition of the Beethoven program to support the domain in attracting and educating top talent and strengthening research across the fields of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Job Requirements

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic committed principled and independent team player whomeets the following requirements:

  • Education at MBO level supplemented by secretarial training and preferably several years relevant experience in a similar position.
  • An excellent level of English (C1 level or higher) and a good level of Dutch (both spoken and written).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with office applications such as Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A service-oriented attitude initiative and stress-resistance.
  • Experience with or the willingness to learn using the Microsoft Teams and SharePoint environments.
  • Experience with or the willingness to learn handling administrative and financial workflows.

Its a plus if you also have:

  • Experience in maintaining the content of web pages and other project software management related tools.
  • Experience with tools for collaborative work such as git and svn.
